A Courageous Fight

Joey was transported by ambulance to EIRMC on Tuesday morning when we he was found unresponsive. He was immediately taken to ICU, where he has remained for the last two days. He is suffering from multi-organ failure, has been on and off of dialysis, and is on a respirator. Due to his condition, this morning he has been put on constant dialysis, which means he will be on it 24 hours a day. After two unsuccessful surgeries, and the amount of toxins in his body, the decision has been made to amputate his right leg. The amputation will be above the right thigh or close to his hip.
Joey is a fighter and has a young, strong heart, and that is a plus in his favor. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers in his behalf. We are praying it is God's will to allow us to keep Joey. We love him so much. Hang in there, Joey!!! We love you!!!
We will be updating this blog as we receive more information.

  8. Hey Joey,

It's your cousin Sidney. I just want you to know that I love you and I know you can pull through this. It will be hard, but you have tons of family and friends who love you and who are pulling for you. Joel was just talking the other day of the fond memories he has of playing indoor soccer with you. Please know that you are special to us all, and that YOU ARE OF WORTH! We want nothing but the best for you and we know you have great potential. Our prayers are with you.
