Getting Closer

The doctors took Joey down for a total body CT at 2:30. We were told that Joey is still critical and not "out of the woods", but we are headed in the right direction. The first priority right now is the respirator, kidneys, and blood pressure. The doctors will be decreasing the sedatives slightly today to see if they can get Joey to wake a little, and get closer to removing the respirator, and get him breathing on his own.

The doctors have taken Joey off his blood pressure medicine, and so far, he is maintaining good levels on his own. Good Job Joey!!!

The next step will be his kidneys. So far he is still on twenty four hour hemo-dialysis. His kidneys are still not working on their own, but we are all hopeful that it is temporary, and in time, they will start working on their own.

It is sounding like Joey will have another small surgery on Sunday for his leg. The doctors have found some bad tissue near his gluteous, but they are monitoring it closely.

Joey's friends have been such a huge support system. He is loved by many. His friends have been here around the clock supporting Joey.
